Manga Monday: Vampire Knight

If you like vampires then you’ll like this manga! Vampire Knight, by Matsuri Hino, centers around Yuki Cross a student and Guardian at Cross Academy.  Along with Zero Kiryu, she protects the other students of the Day Class from the ones in the Night Class who just happen to be vampires. It’s a rather angsty Shojo manga with a classic pretty art style found in many of its genre. I like VK for its bishounen and emotion driven story.

I will only read the official releases because at certain points the dialogue is confusing, which poses a major problem when a manga relies heavily on words. Another pitfall is many of the characters look similar, so naturally things can get jumbled up if you don’t pay close attention to who’s who.  Thankfully, Viz is kind enough to add a character directory at the end of each volume.

Check it out if you like vampire drama and a drop of action.
